YOUTH FOOD MOVEMENT UK OFFERED CHANCE TO JOIN NATIONAL FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS COUNCIL MEET

BY MIA HADFIELD-SPOOR

Just an update to let you know that:
YFM UK have been offered the chance to join a council meeting of the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, which we hope will enable us to develop a partnership that can pursue programmes of interest to all our members.

The NFYFC is ‘one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK’# and this year is celebrating 80 years of dedication to the support of young people in agriculture and the countryside. NFYFC provides educational and social experiences and opportunities for the 662 Young Farmers Clubs it heads, which represent 23,000 members. YFM UK share many of their passions and believe that there are potentially endless projects that we could combine forces on.

We are really excited by this opportunity to pursue a partnership with NFYFCs with the intention of working together in the future on programmes of joint interest. We are eager to begin with a project looking into the reform of the European Union Common Agricultural Policy, initially, but also hope to look at policy development at other levels as well as generally increasing communication between young people of different backgrounds and experience to inspire and share our interests in food culture and commitment to food sovereignty.

Keep an eye out: as we will be in touch after our meeting with NFYFCs to let you know how it went and what we are planning.

What I am hoping is that the process of eliciting and gathering recipes will elicit a good amount of data about the systems being developed.experiment is useful here, especially in a world where we’re trying to use our limited time and attention to make the biggest difference. We're living in an exciting period. Human consciousness is expanding so fast that the future is no longer predictable.
